Hey Cheech, my ORV registration is valid and I carry it in my quad but I don't have the actual stickers since I switched out my plastics. Will they still let me ride?</end quote></div>

It costs about $10.00 to get replacement tags last time I did it.</end quote></div>

I would get replacement tags if I were you.

I had to get replacement tags when I shattered my airbox on the Reiter ride. My tags were on the shattered box.

Put your new ones on the frame somewhere.</end quote></div>

OK I will call DOL on monday... I just figured it didn't really matter as long as I had the valid reistration on me.</end quote></div>

Even though you would be carrying the registration on you, without tags on the quad there is no way for it to be verified that it is for that quad. Like carrying your car registration without plates. What tag number would they be able to check to see that it matches the registration?

You'd just be a tickets waiting to happen.

No need to call the DOL, just go into your local licensing agency with your registration and buy new ones.</end quote></div>

so you are saying your vin number is no good?</end quote></div>

What do you think the authorities would rather do, write you a ticket for no tabs, or look for and run your vin?

The law probably states that license and tabs need to be posted on quad. So ticket is asked for without running vin.

So basically, yes, I am saying your vin is no good. Only time I could see them cutting you slack is with a newly purchased quad where license and tabs have not be received from the state yet.</end quote></div>

pressure washer zapped my sticker so that it was unreadable

the authority (not sure which type) that stopped a group of us at rock candy a few years back said, "well, theres more than one way to skin a cat" and took my VIN # and said "no problem"

i was surprised he was so casual

he was a seasoned, layed back type who was primarily looking for stolen bikes as he later explained

a greenhorn barney fife might have been a different story

Looked at lots of quads yesterday, sat on a bunch, rode 2. hmmmmmmm

Had lunch at XXX drive-in Michael had the xxx burger - omg! That puppy filled the plate it was so huge!

Wanted to take another look at the kawi 450 but rmc didn't have any yesterday - the ones I saw there before were all gone, sold ...........

Oh well.

Picked up my grandparents and brought em back to moms for a nice family dinner - 4 generations. They are 89 and almost 92 and still sharp. We played mexican train til about 9:30 then I told them the kids and I were tired, they were still rarin to go! I hope I'm that tippy-top when I'm 90.

I have to start getting the trailer and gear ready for the trip. Only one more weekend after this before we go!

Have fun today riders!

We are looking for a "sponsor". A friend is supposed to go with us, but he might not get his son in time. The lil guy either flies in on the 21st or the 25. We leave the 22nd.
