Puget Sound/Seattle/Northwest Area Riders Meet HERE!!!
ok this could be a really overwhelming answered question, but I cant think of any group of people to take advise from than PSAR.
My wife and I are looking for new quads and the previous decision we made ended up being an under powered under sized one. We enjoyed the fact we got to meet everyone and ride the different places but we are looking for new machines and with so many choices I am turning to you guys for advise.
What I want to know is what you think is the best machine for the best money out there, and just a short reason why.
Thanks in advance...

That's a pretty wide question so I would suggest you add some info to get a better response.
1.) What kind of riding are you planning doing for the most part? All Dunes, All trails, equal amounts of both or a little of one and lots of the other?
2.) This will follow your answer to Question 1...Are you predisposed to a Sporty or a Utility, or do you care?
3.)What is your preferred riding style? Aggresive, fast, slow, puttering, etc.
4.)Do you want a quad you won't have to modify much to achieve either goal or something you can build out later if you decide to?
5.)Are you looking for matching quads for you and your wife, or do you ride with different styles hence might look at different machines for each of you?
I happen to love my 2003 Suzuki Z400 which has done very well for me in both trail and dunes. I've done mods which only improved an already great all around quad. It's a quad I will have for a very long time.
I absolutely love my Suzuki LTR 450, especially on the dunes, but it also does nicely on trails, although it's just a tad too wide and low for really getting into all trails without paying close attention to your riding. It doesn't make me love that quad any less.
I also have a Wolverine, which is simply a small tank. It's pretty much bulletproof, although a tad underpowered for my tastes and riding style. It survives being thrown off mountains nicely though.
I am sure you are going to get as many opinions as folks that post, so there you have it. Good luck in your search for your next new toys.

Dan, Jayna asked some very good questions.
I would say an all around good quad for trails and dunes alike would be the Suzuki Z400 or the Honda 400EX.That is, if you are looking for a sport quad.
Both have electric start and reverse. The Z400 has a little more power and is water cooled. The 400EX is still air cooled and is nearly bullet proof.
Go to a dealer that will let you ride around on them so you can feel their different ergonomics.
If you want more power the Raptor 700 gets good reviews for both trails and dunes.
As far as the 450's are concerned I think they are all very good quads but all are set up differently for their intended purpose, ie; racing.
I love my 450R but with a kick start and no reverse it is not the best trail quad, although I do love riding the trails with it.
I think the Suzuki is a fine machine also but as Jayna mentioned it is a little wide and low for trails and it too has no reverse.
I think the YFZ450 is set up more for MX racing than trails, also no reverse.
Now the KFX450 has reverse but I don't know how it is on the trails, you should talk to TReX about that.
