Mio, Leota, Gladwin... None are that far away for a day of riding but all are far enough away to be concerned. Hunting season is coming and most of us think of hunting season as being deer hunting season. Small game hunting starts October, in Michigan. So does bow hunting. Small game hunting runs thru March, I think!
Point is, you don't have much time left to schedule your riding. Get busy! You may be the deer... not the dear...

anyone ever been on a polker run in michigan? if so where at, details, how you liked it. I spoke to my uncle about going on one, he said that on his 400 ex, it was really rough, lot of mud, even had to ride through a swamp. He busted his rear shock, said it did more harm than good.
so any thoughts/concerns, and ideas on them, id like to hear them.

We've had poker runs the last three years in the U.P. Don't know that there will be anymore orginized poker runs there but many of the riders still show up to ride at once in Hulbert, Mi. I missed this year's ride because I already had plans for H/M Trails, in WV. The problem with orginized riding is that the State mandates, you get a permit if there's going to be more than fifteen riders. And the rules change from town to town. There are other reasons why no poker run but I don't want to get into that here.
I thought riding the U.P. would be a breeze but there are some muddy places to ride and you can actually ride for 100 miles a day there. The people are friendly too. They even put up with our dirty, muddy clothes in the restraunts. Dust yourself off first!
