Can someone give me some details on Louisiana's Kisatchie Sandstone Trail?
Information on the Sandstone Trail located on the Kisatchie Ranger District, Natchitoches, LA: This trail is the District's only multi-use trail (ATV, hiking/biking, horseback riding). It is a 31-mile loop open year round. If the area receives two or more inches of rain, the trail will be closed - call the office 318-352-2568 or 866-830-6467 for information.
The two camp sites for parking and camping are the Lotus and Corral Camps - $3 per day
Directions: I-49 - exit 119; Hwy 119 south 4 miles; west on Longleaf Trail Scenic Byway (Corral is about 8 miles on the right and Lotus is about 12 miles on the left)
OR: I-49 - exit 138; Hwy 6 west 5 miles to Hwy 117; south on Hwy 117 for about 25 miles; east on Longleaf Trail Scenic Byway (Lotus is about 5 miles on the right and Corral is about 9 miles on the left)
Kisatchie Ranger District, 106 Old Hwy 6 West, Natchitoches, LA 71457 - (318-352-2568) This office is located at exit 138 off I-49
Please let me know the phone number of who you originally called for information on this trail. If additional information is needed please let me know, we can also mail you maps.
