Not so much in trails, maybe only 30-40 miles, if I ride all of them, but I have a couple 10 mile loops i use for race practice. I have been too busy working to build any MX tracks for my quad, usually between working and building/maintaining trails it takes up all my time. Its all woods on property our family farms, broken up on 3 parcels, its about 1800 acres of woods.

I was just looking for other people that have LEGAL places to ride here in Upstate, it seems that everywhere public that allows riding requires registration and insurance, and since its just a loaner quad from one of my Can-am buddies, I don't have the paperwork to register it. When I lived in Georgia, that wasn't a problem, but you Yankees like having everything "locked down". I am figuring that pretty soon they will be labeled as "Assault ATV's" and made illegal to have. LOL

I hear that I don't feel I should get registration an insurance until we have legal places to ride because the money isn't making is way back to the n.y. atv community, I'm not sure how much land we have at the spot where we ride but we travel to the border to do most of it. As far as legal spots there really isn't any unless you know people. We know a guy out in spencer that has land but that's an hour ride from me. Although I found a place in beaver damns not sure how far that is from you but its called "Rocky roost mx" park check it out sounds pretty fun im hoping to be heading out tomorrow so ill get back an let you an everyone in know how it is an should have some footage to go with it.

Hope you enjoy your ride, and looking forward to a ride report if you get out to the MX park.

Yeah, you are right about the riding areas, the snowmobile guys have a really nice trail system. I understand about some bad apples ruining it for others tho, you know how some idjits are, they find a mudpuddle and run back and forth until its a mud hole. Thats why I figure we wont see any new riding areas opening up for us. (Nothing against mudders, I have no problem with them playing, but some guys would rather tear up a nice hayfield than dig a hole in their own back yard)

Thats why I like the OHV parks, they offer something for everyone. I guess since everyone is so "sue crazy" in New York these days, no one wants to open a park. A lot of the parks down south have a waiver to sign, pay for your riding pass and then you can ride. If we could just do that here, I wouldn't mind paying registration and insurance, but where does that money go? 'Cause sure enough I never hear about new riding areas, or more State Parks opening.

Sorry man, rant over...

Don't forget to give a ride report on that track. Not that they would want my Outty 800 making laps on it.

I guess that's how this place is pay your ride fee sign the waiver an off you go. From what the site says you can use a nice range of toys there, im more of a trail ride type a guy I like going down the trail an ending up somewhere else. I know all to well thats why we lost alot of spots we had nice close spots too. I had a good spot to go to all the time but people like to take advantage of kind people an mess things up bye dumping garbage, stealing things, just a couple of examples but you get the idea so good riding areas are getting scarce.

How did you make out today? Did you get to ride that MX track? It was about cold here, I only got in about an hours worth of riding, I can't wait until it at least gets to 50, riding in 30 degree weather just sucks a little bit. haha

Yeah it is a lil cold, no unfortunately no I didn't get to ride at all an my b-day was yesterday yeah kinda sux. Living up north I don't mind the cold,if you dress warm your good.I would love to be able to just hop on my Wheeler an ride whenever without at least an hour trailer ride. What can you do tho but I'm still gonna try to check that place out my ride flaked on me an since I don't have my own trailer or truck it's tough.

Yeah, having to trailer someplace sucks nowadays. I will be heading to Durhamtown Off Road Park in the next week or so (Hopefully). I am not liking how much fuel I will need to put in the truck to get to Georgia, but I got some friends down there I need to do some riding with.

Hopefully going to get some riding in, get a workout on the MX tracks, then get some "upgrades" done on the Outlander.
