Anybody goin?
I may be forced to go since my friends want to go and I have the only truck capable of hauling their trailer. May get some of the neighbor kids to go too.
I hate the busy weekends! GRRRR!
I have never been there in winter. How cold is it usually? Am I gonna freeze in my tent?
Anywho is anybody else goin?

I went one Thanksgiving, and swore I would never do it again!! You could have walked across the whole parking area from vehicle to vehicle, without touching the ground. It was very cold that weekend, but with a good sleeping bag, it wasn't miserable.

Im planning my next trip to either Dumont or Jawbone, i haven't been either. Can anyone make a recommendation on these two places?
BTW, i just came back from visiting Stoddard Valley for the first time and i gotta say it's the worst place i've ridden, not that it's a bad place but way to rocky or my taste, i only make it to 3rd gear. It's a nice clean place to ride, but just my two cents.

Ah, but eman, at what part of Stoddard were you? There are some really rocky spots that are horrible, i.i. near the factory outlets at Sidewinder Road. But there are some awesome areas as well. Give it another try and this time exit on Dale Evans, turn right, then immediate left into a large staging area. You can either stay there, or take the main road over and up into one of the next two valleys. Because of the recent rain a few of the trails were a bit more rocky, but it is the small stuff that is easy to go through, my 4 year old cousin did it just fine. Almost all of the trails were in great shape. So, give it another try.

hi Katstoy,
we staged from Hodges road east along side the 15 HWY and rode east, north and south we made the best of it and still rode all day but my back is paying the price today
I'll give the dale evans exit a try next time

eman400 don't go to Jawbone on Thanksgiving weekend, it is an awesome place to ride on any other weekend. My family has been going there for Thanksgiving for 10 years and we vowed that last year to our last. Just too crowded, with way too many poor riders. It is a very nice & friendly place to ride any other time of the year.
