My boys and I will be down visiting and would like to get in a ride or two (or more?)

I am a nut! and taking my quads all the way down there

Anyway, we'd like to find some folks to ride with - our quads aren't exactly ***** of fire, but we have ridden tight trails in the woods, dunes, and logging roads, so are open to most areas.

If you have kids, even better!

I live just over the hills to the north of Moreno. There are lots of places to ride nearby, although they are not all necessarily "legal". Plus, there is the whole "high desert" (up the I-15 to the north) and the "low desert" out toward Palm Springs/Glamis (east/southeast). How much time do you have, and are you willing to drive a little?

I'm leaving WA on the 14th, arrive the 15th, ready to ride the 16th.

We are real flexible as for days and times because on vacation, we play it by ear. I think grandma and grandpa will be taking the 4yo to Legoland one of the days which is cool - he usually rides in front of me.

I am willing to drive up to 3 or so hours - up here, it takes anywhere from 1 to 5 hours to get to our usual spots. My p/u is 2wd though, so I can't get too extreme.

The 20th is the last day I can ride - leaving CA the 21st since it's back to work on the 23rd.

I can't wait to ride somewhere warmer than here - we were riding in the snow yesterday.

The 16th is a holiday, but unfortunately we will be in the Sierras riding in the snow. You want to get out of the snow, and we go looking for it.........go figure. The 20th would be the only day that might work for us. We can see what works out.

We can also give you directions to some great places, if you want to forge out on your own. Ocotillo Wells is 2 hrs. and Glamis 2+, both out in the low desert. Lots of places in the high desert, about 1 hr. drive. Do your relatives live on the edge of Moreno, near any hills? Might be able to ride right from the house??????

Definitely get out to Glamis if you can (bring along paddles if you have them).

The folks are off Cactus & Kitchen I think. I exit 215 at Cactus and head east or I exit 60 at Perris Blvd. and go south. There is a field close with tracks, but I don't know if it is legal. I used to camp and ride years ago on some BLM land near blythe - we'd ride in the morning and ski on the river in the hot part of the day. Now, I don't think I could find it anymore or even if it's open.

Glamis would be awesome - but I haven't been since about '84 - would need a guide.

Anyone able to ride then?

Looks like our trip to the Sierras may not happen. The 16th is a holiday, so we would be able to do a day ride that day. Glamis gets real crowded on holidays though!

Excellent that you all might be able to ride on the 16th.

Keep me posted please. My 12 y-o started drooling when he saw the word "Glamis". Too funny!

Thank you!
