Hey HappywithV. How was your trip? I was thinking of heading that way over the long weekend. Not that bad of a drive for a day trip from The OC. Was it any good out there? Easy to find?
Thanks!!

Very easy to find. Go up 395 to adelanto and make a left. Look at a map and it will be easy. There is a small mexican restraunt at the corner of 395 and the turn (I don't remember the street name). Fun trails around the lakebed and the lakebed is fun to dragrace others and to ride wheelies. It can be windy and cool this time of year. Go to the small white colered hill to the northwest and ride the boundry trail around the perimeter....long ride.

Crippen is the street, it's a small side street so look out for it, on the left hand side just passed the police station, take that till it ends then merge to the right until u see the dry lake bed

I loved it. There were a lot of people camping. The weather was perfect. The last couple of times I have been there the wind got pretty nasty. Sunday, no wind. It actually got pretty warm. I went on some pretty long rides, like the perimeter run. Fun stuff. Also went out to the white hill towards the end of hte lakebed, I guess it would be the NW end. Some rocky hill climbs, pretty fun. Then took one of the small river beds back. I'm beginning to really like that place. Both of my friends have KFX400s and have pipes and jets. I have a bone stock z400. These are the first quads for all 3 of us and we are just learning about them, but they have been messing with tuning and I can catch them on the top end on the lakebed but the have more torque on the low end. We got up to 72mph (GPS).

Sounds fun. I really like the lakebed action. I didn't think I would like that part so much......but it is fun having guys pull up and want to race. Many have never seen a quad like mine (lava red V) but liked it alot. It makes me want to fix it up some.

Have you have clocked that thing on the lakebed? I don't think I would line up with you to race. Just saw your Glamis pics. I'm planning another trip out there the weekend of March 12. I can't wait.

I have not yet clocked it on the lakebed. I did go riding yesterday with Customfabandweld (on the forum). He has a prarie. We raced a bit on an old paved road. He got up to 65mph and i was still pulling away, but we had to slow for the curves! I want to go back to El Mirage though. I really liked it.
