I'm only posting this because I think we all need to be reminded now and again that we shouldn't follow too close, or ride faster than we can see when the conditions get dusty.
We were out at Jawbone Canyon today, and I was leading 5 other riders. I turned onto another trail, but the rider behind me failed to see where I went. She stopped in the trail, then noticed where I was, and made the turn just in time to avoid being hit by a third rider. The third rider was able to stop, and had been stopped for a couple seconds when the fourth rider came through the dust, still at speed---CRASH!
Damage:
Honda Recon: Bent and broken frame, broken plastic
Honda EX-400: Bent frame, bent exhaust
Injuries: None, and that's a miracle.

Yikes! At least they're OK. How was the riding out there. I saw it was only 7000 acres, but out there i would think you could ride beond the boundry. We stayed closer to home and went to El Mirage. It was great. After some drag races on the lakebed.....i need to make my V go faster!

If you're willing to try the hill-climb of death, then Jawbone Canyon is for you. I sat and watched the dirtbikers go up. Some made it. Most didn't. For quad riding, there's a little of everything, although I didn't see any dunes. I didn't realize you're allowed to ride through Red Rock Park. That's next on my list.

Both those are MY BIKES! The Recon will be an easy (but expensive!) fix. Just replace the plastic and front racks. The 400EX will require a new subframe and muffler.
What breaks my heart is that I had that 400 totally dialed in. Of all my bikes, it was the one that I could alway depend on the run and handle perfectly!! I rode it a while, and it is definitely messed up!!
But, nobody hurt, THANK GOD!

Didn't witness the crash myself. The Recon rear ended the 400EX. My daughter said she ended up on top of the Recon!! If she had turned the bike a little sooner, she would have gotten hit in the SIDE. No doubt there would have been some BROKEN BONES!! Again, THANK GOD!
