Default Where to ride in michigan?

for spring break we are thinking of going to silver lake for a few days, but also wanted to maybe stop somewhere else to try riding.

Are there any decent places south of SL? (we are coming from IL, so the best place would be in the south/ west quarter or so of the state

Please post any info you have
Thanks

Roost, when is spring break? I will be there the 1st weekend in April, that is opening weekend. There is a trail system that is about an hour from Silver Lake, unfortunatly itt is not south or west, I think it is north east. I will post back when I remember the name of it. It is like a big loop. I have never been there but would like to

Their is a trail South east of SL called Cedar Creek. IMO its too narrow, but if you like tight , twisty trails this is the one. Their is also one about 1hr directly east of SL. If interested in either let me know I'll help with directions.

Also, you guys from out of State will have to purchase an ORV Sticker from the DNR or nearby retailer. The trail at Cedar Creek is small and the next closest is White Cloud. White Cloud offers 14 miles of 50 inch trails. ORV Stickers are $16.25 for residents and out of State riders of public lands. After you ride Silver Lake, remember to get an ORV Sticker to ride anywhere else in Michigan, considered "Public Land".

Rode cedar creek & White Cloud . White Cloud sucked!!! It was way to tight & had alot of roots & rocks that want to rip the handle bars out of your hands. Hit 3 trees & fliipped my quad on top of me. the whole trail is way to tight for a quad. Cedar creek has some tight spots but, most of the trail is wide & there are some fun hills. Had alot of fun there.

The dirt bike guys take care of the White Cloud Trails System. They prefer, quads not use it for obvious reasons. Next time, plan ahead and tryout, Evert or Little Manistee. They're a little farther north but worth the trip.
