Where are you at in Southern Indiana? I live in the Southwest corner near Evansville, Windrock is in or near by Oliver Springs Tennesse. We are headed there this weekend for the ATV Nation Ride.

I heard a rumor that Haspin won't be open much longer. I don't think they can afford the insurance anymore or something. Probably just a rumor though. It would be a better place to ride if they actually did trail maintence sometime.. and i'm not talking about just driving the water tank around trying to keep the dust down. Also, has anyone been to redbird or the Lawrenceburg ORV park? Is it worth registering your quad to go ride these places?

Hope thats just a rumor and not true, sucks if it is. I went to Redbird a few months ago and had a blast. Although the place is still growing, theres quite a few challenging areas, and plenty of mud to go around. Quite a few members from LCTR have been there and had a good time. I hated getting my quad registered, but now think it was worth it since I was able to ride down at Interlake/Lynville over by Evansville, that place rocks! If you get registered check it out some time.

Haspin is getting pressured by the state (DNR I guess) to shut down, so I heard. I was there last weekend and they have tightened down on the rules, helmets are required and enforced now, and they prohibit riding at night- riding hours are from 6am to 9pm now. They havent done away with alcohol yet, but they did say something like "drunkeness and lude behavior wont be tolerated". They Have quite a few "park officers" now, who patrol the grounds and have guys watching over the moto tracks as well.
I hated to hear the night riding was gone, I really enjoyed going out for cruises after dark when camping there. Looks like I might have to start frequenting private riding areas again. Least its free

I hear you, I got a 4 hour drive from where I'm at in the Lafayette area. Its definitely worth it though, I had a blast the last time I went down. If you ever feel like making the trek down there let me know, we could convoy down. I am also having a club get-together in either Aug or Sept for the club at my place, we'll be riding at the Badlands(15 mins away) and camping here, so come join us if you're interested.
