According to their web site... "The Angeles National Forest provides 364 miles of designated OHV routes..."
Anyone have experience riding in the area? How can you find these OHV routes on the map? and where to start? (other than the 2 designated OHV areas) Thanks in advance.

the 364 miles of riding is made up of five controlled ohv area's i don't see any open trail systems although i'm sure they exist probably on the north side, you can find some open trail systems on the north side of big bear mountain




Angeles National Forest
All OHV use must be on designated routes and trails or in designated Open Areas.
The Angeles National Forest provides 364 miles of OHV designated routes (roads). The routes are identified by "Designated Route" signs. Rowher Flats OHV Area offers 47 miles of designated trails and a designated "Open Area". Other Open Areas are located at San Gabriel Canyon and Littlerock Canyon.
All OHV's must meet DMV standards for approved mufflers and current registration. Vehicles such as motorcycles, ATV's and Odysseys must be equipped with approved spark arresters and have valid green stickers. Helmets are required for all ATV riders.


Rowher Flat
This OHV area contains approximately 47 miles of marked trails within 10,000 acrea and a designated Open Area. Some trails are impassable due to poor conditions. Trails Require intermediate to advanced riding skills. It is recommended that novices stay on the flat areas.
Location: From Highway 14, takethe Sierra Highway exit (north); turn left on Rush Canyon Road.
Red Sticker riding season: Nov 1 - March 31

Drinkwater Flat
OHVs are restricted to designated roads and trails only.
Location: Take San Francisquito Road to Drinkwater Road; travel 5 miles to Drinkwater Flats.

Littlerock Reservoir
An OHV Open Area consisting of sandy, rocky, flat, dry reservoir land.
Location: Take Highway 138 to Cheseboro Road. Turn south 2.5 miles. Fee is charged.
Red Sticker riding season: Nov 1 - March 31

San Gabriel Canyon
An OHV area consisting of 150 acres of rocky, sandy reservoir land. The stream flows year round.There is a weekend and holiday parking fee. It can be crowded on weekends. Call 626-910-1235 or 626-335-1251 for information.
Location: From the 210 Freeway, take the Azusa Ave., Highway 39 exit. Go north approximately 12 miles.
