Amorgosa is about 85 miles north west on us 95. When you get to Amorgosa valley (there is a cat house and a convenience store/resturaunt.) coninue about a mile or two and the turn off is on the left. I think the street is valley view. Just like the one on the west side of Vegas. You will see the dunes. Continue down that street a mile or so and you will come to the dirt road turn off. The dunes are pretty big and some are quite steep. Much steeper than Dumont. It is worth the drive. It is really the closest dunes to Vegas.

The closest town is Indian Springs although there are some services in Amargosa Valley. The Amargosa Dunes are impressive, plenty of extremely steep hills along with some decent trail rides. Watch out for the small plant life that grows out of the dunes, one of my friends hit one and flipped his machine resulting in a broken leg.

I will definately be going to Amargosa when it cools down. I am sick of paying Cal and Ut so much money to register and ride. I don't think I am gonna do it this year. Besides my youngest boy is not allowed to ride in Utah until he is 8. See you guys when it cools down a little!
