Default St Joe State Park riders - September Sandfest at Little Sahara

Anyone else planning on going to Sandfest this September? It's the weekend after Labor Day and so far I think Larry and Zach are interested in going. Me, Flagless, BlasterApe and the rider formerly known as BiggingDBS (he has felt the rath of moderators here and is in exile) are going. I've rented house in Waynoka for us. I'm willing to chip in on somebody's camp site if they'll be willing to let me park my trailer there. Larry tells me that you can't leave and expect to find a spot to park one again...

Zach told me about it last night and I'm game.

Rick and I got back from LS on Sunday and man was it hot and windy. We did however find a camp spot that kept us in the shade all day. There wasn't much racing going on Friday but Saturday was better. Rick's Raptor equipped with Dune Devils ran extremely well beating all 4-strokes and most 2-strokes Friday and Saturday. The wind messed the dunes up bad by the wind. The dunes were very dry and loose and not many people were riding them the couple of times we dared to venture back there. The sand trails on the other hand were ok. All in all it was still fun and I'm ready to go back.

Did you guys camp out or rent a place in town. If you're looking for a spot you might check with the Bliss family in Waynoka. Clean places and cheap too.

Doesn't look like riding weather this weekend does it?

Pat...we got a motel room in Waynoka Thursday and Friday night. No way was I going to sleep in that sand storm. I'm with you on renting a room or house. I think my tent camping days are over. We paid 59+ change per night for 2-double beds.

I asked that question and they said that the Snake Hunt sold 1 more wrist band than last years Sandfest. 16,999 wrist bands were sold at last years Sandfest...as I was told.

I was also told that there were 17,000 this year.......Sounds to me like I might have to go even earlier to be able to stay at the South Ground!

I don't think it matters which end you stay at. Both are okay. The south is close to the drag strip and the north is by the big dunes!!!

Sandragggen...we rented a house with 5 beds for 65 a night. You might check the Waynoka site to see if there are any houses still available. I have bunkhouse 1 and I just checked with those folks and they don't have any more available for sandfest weekend.

I'm also told that the park is going to stop letting people park on the side of the road next year. That may be a problem!
