Default Cinder Hills near Flasgstaff

We are planning a trip to Cinder Hills near Flagstaff over Memorial Day. Anyone been there, do you have any suggestions on where to camp and how to get there. I have basic directions about the forest service road and then follow the signs, but haven't been there before and was hoping for a little more information. Any suggestions on what to expect? Thanks

Expect quite a few people up there on the Mem weekend. The dunes are getting too hot now, so everyone heads up there. Here's some campng info, a map etc. It's 7k elevation, re-jet accordingly and consider bringing your paddle tires (no buffed tires though). The hillclimbs are awesome, and there should be some races going on out there.

TWG, we will be making the trek to the Cinders for the first time also this weekend. We're going with a bunch of people from Laughlin who have been there before. I guess we're parking somewhere "before" the lake, just off the main road....whatever that means. I'll be on a blue Raptor # 935. My trailer has a big sticker of a fireman and cop riding dirt bikes on the ramp door....it's pretty hard to miss. If ya get a chance, say hey. Be safe out there (with socal whackos like me there!) Cool HAZ, maybe I'll see you there. There are four rigs in our group, a big 35 footer, and two 29 foot toy haulers, all towed by ford pickups. And my 25 foot motorhome with a flatbed trailer for the bikes. We have a couple of v forces, green and orange, z 400's a green (artic cat) and a yellow one and a white one, a blue raptor, and my red 450r.
