Nope, wasn't there on the fourth. I was there on Memorial Day. I think everyone was hiding in camp though. It was open range in the dunes. Friday and Saturday is was really smooth in the back big dunes because of all the sand...if you didn't mind getting sand blasted. First time I really saw a lot of razorbacks and actual edges on the dunes.
This weekend was a last minute thing when I was asked to hitch a ride with a couple friends.
It's going to be something else with that high of a tide. I was there about the same time last year and it was close.
At +7 there isn't much camping area. You have to time arrivals and departures much more carefully. People have to go further towards the fore dunes. Though I seen more people heading to camp back in the dunes that ever before. Had about 3 or 4 trucks with toy haulers all get stuck at the same time in the chute/blocked off area at the entrance to Sand Highway.
I'll be down around Pole 5 or 6 next time. I'll be with the drunks who aren't riding. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]
Power...get a trailer man. I need someone to ride with out there.
