are there any noise restrictions on the miami motorcycle trails. my bikes are set up more for drag but i would like to try miami trails out. im spending the saturday of that weekend riding with t bone . wireman and there family. but im coming home saturday night. are there any rangers up there. is a utility quad necessary or could my ds with the plus6 extended swingarm make the trails? i guess i could give you all a good laugh and push the nitrous button a couple times going up the trails. what are the trails like? rocky? real deep mud? deep river crossings? i run without an airbox so i need to ask ?s like these before i make plans on trail rides
As power noted, we ride all kinds of stuff.

As for noise, it's no different than any other part of the state at 96dBA. Do they test, never seen it. I've *heard* from a USFS person that they were going to be doing it last Memorial Weekend, but never heard anything about it. Problem is, any test result up there could be challenged, as I don't think there's an open enough area. And I've heard some SERIOUSLY loud bikes up there. Just don't open it up around any LE up there. The USFS tends to be rather lax. They are usually just looking at registration and doubles. I've seen people go around the staging area pretty quick and pull into their "camp" and not get even a talking to.

*IF* the Madera Sherrifs happen to be there, they are more sticklers though.

Without an airbox, just be careful of puddles. For the most part though, you can get around them, or slow down to a crawl going through them. A friend drowned out his filter on a LT250R when he flew into a puddle. Puddles for the most part might reach the pegs. Nothing deeper then that really.

Nitrous on at Miami...that would be funny, just leave us your next of kin contact information and a spatula.

Hey there.

We are from SoCal and we ride....all of us....5 s.. My husband and the dog are the only males in the family. It's really cute. We are a family of 6....4 daughters and they all ride. The two oldest 13 and 12 are on 660's and they ride really well, I know, that's a lot of power for them...but they are very safe, intuitive riders....they open it up when they know they can and don't ride above their heads most of the time. The 8 year old is on a little 80Raptor with a pipe, the cutest thing ever...and the little 4 year old is still on an electric jobby, not like the toys r us kind but a bit faster....I couldn't find a quad to fit her so I'm waiting til she takes over the 80.

Then there's momma.......I ride a 700R with a few mods...yay...it's in the shop right now. Can't wait to feel the power dif...getting a pipe on it.

My husband rides a YFZ450 and he just recovered from a broken arm.

Last weekend we were at Jawbone. It was really fun. We try to ride twice a month and would love to meet other families who ride so that the s have friends to meet, etc. Funny thing is, we were going to hook up with some friends of ours..they had a big group...couldn't get in touch with them...ended up being right next to them and not knowing it....go figure...I guess everyone looks the same with gear on...unless you're wearing pink...ha ha ha.

Anyway....I hope that we'll be at RaceTown395 next weekend to check it out but I don't think that's going to happen. All of the bikes are in the shop for major service and some safety mods....who knows...

Anyway....nice to meet you...fellow California rider...hopefully we can meet up with your crew some day.

We are also a family of 6 - yep - 4 daughters here too! All ride quads . . . even the 3 year old has her own.

As for the male, in the family, that would be the dad.

Even the dog is a female! lol

We are in Central CA, but we do ride down in Gorman/Hungry Valley & Jawbone.

Looks like the group has had a change of plans. We're going to be heading over to Hollister on Sunday, Feb. 19 instead of Miami. So far we've got about 8 quads heading over. I think we're leaving Fresno about 7am. Maybe earlier. Probably ride until it's dark, shower and head home.

We'll be in day use.

Plans aren't concrete yet but we should be in 2 or 3 trucks.
Dodge Dakota Quad Cab with a trailer (YFZ450 (white/red), 250EX (yellow?), 450R (Black), Trailboss (Blue)
Ford Ranger (Raptor)
Green Ford F-250 4x4 crew with a trailer (black and red Warrior, Red Scrambler and KFX400)

If I can, I'll try and make a sign. Toss it in/on a window. "Central California Dirt Bikes/Quad Club" and/or "Club ATV West" If you have a cell you can PM me that and I can give you a hollar when we know. We'll be there about 10, I think. Maybe earlier if we can get people in gear.

[ed]Could be another rider as well. Green '03 F-250 PSD w/ yellow 400ex.

Hey kfx700jeckel...I'm in "the other" high desert...Yucca Valley to be exact. We do a lot of riding locally and sometimes ride the jeep trails from Pioneer Town to Big Bear / Baldwin Lake. Let me know if you are out this way looking for someone to ride with and I'll get a few people together.

If you are heading to Hollister try and get there early. It has become more and more popular it seems this season. I live about 30 minutes away and usually go up early Sat mornings around 7am b-4 the day-users come in. These last 2 weeks I've gone up there have been really packed to the point I had to park my toy hauler along a fence line at 7am in the overflow area(radio ridge) ! ! !

I stay away from Hollister on holiday weekends. Way to many idiots. I'll be in Tahoe this weekend snowboarding w/my son's but have fun in the dirt.... I'll be back there the weekend of 2/24.
