I know it's still a little ways away but anyone gonna be there Labor Day Weekend? I haven't been to Pismo in 20 years so it's about time to head back. I have a small group (4-5 toyhaulers) heading there and I'd like to meet a few forum members if possible. Let me know................

 

Was anyone from the forum out there saturday july16.

 

Thinking about going to Pismo on the last week of August. What will it be like out there as far as weather and crowds?

 

Weather will be nice but the crowds will be terrible Last weekend before school starts ,you have to be crazy. If anyone was there the 16 did that guy that broke his neck did he really die.

Oceano Dunes accident kills ATV rider

A 21-year-old Brentwood man was killed while riding an ATV at Ocean Dunes Saturday.

It was the first fatality this year at the state park.

Travis Michael Dreger was driving his ATV over a sand dune near marker 19 west of Sand Highway about 11:45 a.m. when he became airborne. He hit his head and neck against the handlebars when he landed, said Rey Monge, deputy district superintendent of state parks' Oceano Dunes District.

He was taken to Arroyo Grande Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Dreger, who was at the Dunes with family members, was wearing the proper safety equipment, including a helmet and goggles. Authorities don't believe alcohol was involved.

"It was just one of those tragic accidents," said Monge.

 

It was a terrible sight seeing him lay there like that but what really got me was when the girl was begging and pleadding for him to get up. She was emotionaly tore up.

 

Most of the schools are actually starting in August now anymore. Like 1/2 the people at Pismo come from the Central Valley (Sac to Bakersfield.) But it's still a huge weekend. It's the "last weekend of summer." IIRC, the dunes are already completely sold out. I think girlygirl might be heading over that weekend.

Left for Pismo on Thursday.... what a zoo that place was this weekend... too many people and too many people not obeying the laws... I'm ready for the summer crowds to go away [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img]
