CALIFORNIA Quad Riders report here.....
#41
If anyone comes onto this thread late and is interested in riding Miami Motorcycle Trails in Madera County, above Oakhurst here is the information. As I may not check again before I leave.
Meet at 10:00am at the McDonald's roughly on the Northwest corner of Highway 41 and Highway 49. It's just north of 49 on 41. We will probably take off from there about 10:30, or whenever we all get there.
We will be riding from the Kamook Staging Area. This is the largest of the staging areas. To get to Kamook take the first entrance to Miami off of 41. It's after the Lewis Creek hiking trail. Left (west) side of the road. Follow the road until it comes to a junction, turn left and go down into Kamook. This road can be traversed by a 2WD truck. Just go slow to avoid the pot holes (to put it mildly.) If you have a lowered truck, you may wish to use the second entrance. When you enter that road, make an immediate left. There will be signs for both Lone Pine and Kamook Staging Areas. Just follow that road south. It takes about 2-3x as long as the first route. But it's usually eaiser, unless it's really torn up.
Looks for the following vehicles:
White '91 GMC Sonoma long bed. (Me.)
Black '02 F-250 crew cab short bed w/ big 'ol grill guard. (powerstroke01)

Thanks for the invite but too short of notice for this trip...Why wouldnt you want to see a trike where you are going???? Is this an asphalt ride for golf carts or something???

Hungry Valley is alwaycooler than the Central valley here.
In Visalia Tuesday is going to be 99 degrees, at
Hungry Valley its only going to be 70 degrees.
Thats a BIG difference..........

I went to hungry valley first weekend in May and it was about 72-75 degrees, and damn was it hot. You are at 3000-3500ft and it is a lot warmer up there at lower temps. Just a suggestion. I thought it would be cooler, but I sweated my *** off... Take lots of water....
