Hello All,

New here.

I am thinking about buying two new ATV's for me and my wife. I live in Chino Hills, California. The reason I would like to have them is I heard there is good riding in and around the mountains by Big Bear lake, Lake Arrowhead, Santa Clarita, all the way over to Santa Barbara. Is this true?

I would hate to buy them and find out that most of the trails are closed to ATV riders, or that there are only a few good trails to ride on.

In short, how much use can I expect to get out of these quads throughout the year? Since they are 4x4, can I put studded tires on them and ride them in the winter?

Are there any riding clubs in the area for slow trail riders like myself? (My ATV racing days are over...[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Some trails are closed up here due to the fires last year. Many are open, but there could be more. If you like the desert, you can keep riding forever!

Plus you and the 'ol lady can spend some time together and still have fun..... lol

 

Plenty of desert riding, Places like El Mirage dry lake bed. Gorman heading north. Check out Hamn? motorsports in Anaheim. Nice selection of machines. Bought my Polaris from Chapparel in San Bernadino, my next one will be from Hamn. "Nuff said" Get out and ride!

In the SB Mtns., there are a lot of places you will be GLAD you have a 4X4! Some trails are currently closed because of the fires, but will reopen sometime in the future. If you want to know where to go, we can get a group together and give you a tour.

I just got back from Kennedy Meadows (southern Sierra). Great weather, superb scenery and riding! In the hot months, we also ride Bishop/Mammoth. Plus, you have the whole desert to ride in the winter!!! A big heavy 4X4 isn't the hot ticket for bashing big desert whoops, but you can still have a great ride. Check out:

I have been getting great feedback here, so today I bought two new Bombardier Outlander 400 Max 4x4 ATV's (2-seaters).
