Crown King Az. is one of the best starting piont I have been on for rides. Its an old mining town 30 mile west of I17 about half way between Phoenix and Flagstaff. They have two bar-restruants and the Bear Creek Cabins if you want to spend the night. Hundreds of old miniing roads and trails that will take days to see them all. Also lots of camping, but make sure your licenced Surprised you havent heard of it. I come down from Colo. once or twice a year to ride.

I have some maps (pamphlet type) that came from the state for giving out at safety classes...if your interested I could fax it or something.....it has about 13 spots designated for us to ride. Some I have been to. Crown King is not on these maps but like Colorado dude said it is a great place to ride.

Sycamore creek area is a great place to ride. Take HW 87 north like your going to Saguaro Lake, 1/2 mile past the lake turn off look for a left turn and take it. You will cross 87 south onto a dirt road. That road leads down to the river, park at the top and ride down. Lots of trails, the river bottom is sand, and there's usually water if you head north. Very hot this time of year, but if you get there as the sun's coming up you can ride for 2-3hours even in the summer.

Mster: You can get a motorcycle plate on your ATV in Az.. All my friends from Phoenix and Crown King have them and can ride any where the want. Sturgis: Have been going there for nearly 30 years. Two years ago I said enough is enough. I would rather spend 1 hour on my ATV than a day in Sturgis. Everyone I talked to from this area that went this year said it was a zoo and spent very little time there. So I guess if your just going to camp around there I would just as soon ride the Polaris in the hills. Only live 350 miles from Sturgis, but there ain't no way buddy.
