Yes, Ohio does suck...
Wayne Forest is not being talked about- this is for northern Ohio riders who cant take two days or leave at 4AM and come home at dark- like me and most of us with families. LOL info about Wayne is everywhere. Several decent places to ride in the south half of our State.
Extensive researching, phone calls, emails has yielded little info on places an hour or so from the Cleveland area.
links and cut and paste you'll love where your ohio taxes go. first this summary BY ohio, click the text for the gov.page, scroll to bottom
The lack of any publicly designated trails for four-wheel trail riding in Ohio is an obvious issue facing this user group. Government and private organizations should utilize the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) as a means for increasing and improving motorized trail opportunities in Ohio. Four-wheel clubs should partner with local governments to identify and establish possible riding opportunities on county and township rights-of-way and on abandoned or vacated roads.
There are no dedicated state funds available for improving four-wheel drive travel opportunities in Ohio. Since most four-wheel drive vehicles that are used for trail riding are also street legal, vehicle registration revenue is not deposited in the State Recreation Vehicle Fund. As a result, there are not state funds specifically earmarked for four-wheel trail improvements.
WHAT?!?!? Please show me where a jeep driver wouldnt get pummeled for running an ATV trail...pahleeeze.
heres Perry State forest, only a few miles http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/forestry/...ests/perry.htm
But the killer is, some state park/federal land maps dont indicate you are, in fact, allowed to have an APV (oh, in ohio, its not ATV, its APV or "All porpose vehicle". duh... That alone took me 24 hours to decifer. Go to ODNR and search for ATV...nada...after reading a few dozen webpages I found something called "motorized vehicle trail maps" that took me to the page where they refered to "single user, off road vehicles" (dirt bikes, ATVS) as "APV"
ARRRRRRGH!
Well, if you read this far, heres a treat for you northern Riders...sort of..
Anyone know of this club or if any of these maps are legal to ride?
Thanks- heres my email if you know of some stuff, I'd start a website if you do REMOVEcwg@claudegatewood.comREMOVE Just remove the 'remove, eh?

Elson St. used to be decent, it's the closest anyhow. Last time I was there it was pretty rutted out, seems like they do no trail maintenance at all. Crow Canyon is a little bit farther but it's still in nice condition with alot of different types of riding.
