Taking the family to Three Rivers WMA trails in OK in early October.
Is there any tent camping park that are ATV friendly in this area, with access to the Three Rivers Trail?
Thanks for helping!

I don't know about tent camping. We stayed at the Whipoorwill lodge and they don't mind riding in/out. I've only been up there once, but plan to go back at some point. Let me know where the access points sre to the good trails.

Brandyjack, As far as camping goes you can camp anywhere, but if you camp on the east side of 259 you cant ride your quads over there. I sujest going in on the second gravel road south of the whip poor will cabens 12 miles north of Browken Bow,and find a little creek to camp by .But you better hurry up because that hole area is going to be cloused off to atv's soon. Mid 2005 or so.

Thanks to all the information. I went on a quick scouting trip last Saturday, we camp at Clayton Lake State Park for a night.
Rode Honobia Creek East of 271 and North of 144, the trails here are easy and wide. Also rode at the border of Honobia Creek and
Three River WMA parked at the gravel trail head where 144 start to be a gravel road. Same type of trail. We rode for a total of 75 miles
on Saturday.
For the October 7th trip we will be riding the Three River WMA east and west of 259. We would like to stay in a cabin, Whippoorwill is booked!
Any suggestion to a cabin near Whippoorwill with website?
Thanks again!

BrandyJack, There a few diferent one's up there, we stayed at www.treetopviewcabins.com a few years ago they where cool but they are 25 miles north of Broken Bow near a town called Battiest. Ph#580-241-5599. And if you ride on the east side of 259 near Houchatown or Browken Bow you might get busted, we got stoped last year the cop brought me and buddy back to whip poor will so we could get our trucks and trailers he would not let us ride them back. We did not know it was a crime. He said he could give us a $500 fine a tack our quads. But he let us go...

I was there a fwe weeks ago and spoke to the Game Warden, who is a pretty nice guy, you can ride East of 59 but the trail is very limited. only ONE trail/road is legally accessible by ATV. We ride that and to be honest were less than impressed...

I first read about it in the July 8th McCurtain Daily Gazette. The front page artical was about the U.S Forest Service orders all National Forest to designate a off road vehicale area. And I talk to the people at the Ouachita National Forest office in Idabel OK, They where working on designating couple of the main gravel roads that will left open that will consist of about 23 miles. To me that's closing the place down.
