Where to ride in Michigan...
#1
hey guys,
I've been riding up in the Baldwin // cadillac area in Michigan for years, but recently found out about the Mounds riding area near flint. I was wonderring how the riding was up there? i tried to get there with a friend, but we had some trouble and by the time we got there, it was 45 minutes until they closed the gates... was wonderring if the park offers enough riding to keep us entertained for a whole day, b/c i know the manistee loops do, if the mounds isn't extensive enough. thanks for the input
P.S. goin up wherever we end up, saturday morning

I live in Battle Creek, and my brother-in-law lives in Lake Orion, and we have been there a few times, it is fun, but it is non-directional, and they allow almost anything in, trucks, etc. I am usually ready to go after about 3-4 hours. I will go back because it is the closest place to ride for us to get together for the day. We will try Silver Lake on Sun. Give the Mounds a try, its not perfect, but thank goodness these places exist.

I had a year pass to the mounds last year but did not renew it this year. It gets old after going there extensivelly. It is worth checking out, esp after a good rainy season so you can watch the trucks and some of the atvs try and get thru the mudd holes. The main riding areas tend to get flooded though which limits the amount of wide open dry areas where you can find good spots to jump. Basically if you want to jump dont go right at spring when the snow has just melted or after a good rain storm, if you want to play in the mud do just the opposite.
First time to Silver Lake....... you are never going to want to go back to the mounds. Silver lake is the best place in mich to ride.
We will try Silver Lake on Sun
