Default directions to coal creek

I need directions to coal creek in Tennessee. I will be coming down I-75 from Louisville, KY. I need exact directions and maybe a recommendation on a hotel in the area. We are leaving October 21st at 11p.m. and we are riding to sunday at noon. IF anyone is going to be there write back and maybe we can hook up especially if you know the place real well. thanks in advance for the help. Brian

I just got back from there, it's a great place to ride. We put on 217 miles in 3 days.

Directions from 75S are exit 122 (rt 61) go south on 61 to 95 south, 95 intersects with rt 62 in the town of Oak Ridge. Go right (west) on 62 for approximately 10 miles to Windrock rd it's not easy to find but there is a street sign and it's just after a bridge turn right and follow it about 5 miles to the parking lot at the trail head. There are many hotels in Oak Ridge (good size town) the Comfort Inn has permits available 24/7. HTH

I hope it rains for you, the trails are much more fun when wet and it was very dusty this past weekend.

Good Luck and Enjoy

Bigblazer - This is from their website:

Easy access from interstate I-75:
In Lake City, take exit 130 - onto Hwy 25W go past Cracker Barrel and Burger King approx. 1 mile - turn right onto Hwy. 116 across from the school football field and travel approx. 9 miles going through Fratersville and Briceville and take a left onto Hwy. 330 - follow Hwy. 330 into Oliver Springs downtown area - turn right in downtown - travel cross the railroad tracks past City Hall and Police Dept. on your left - turn right in front of Dollar General Store and go out to the 4 lane hwy and the traffic light - turn right at the traffic light onto the 4 lane hwy. and Windrock Rd. will be 100 yards up on the left just before crossing the bridge

It seems to me it was easier than what it sounds when went! If you have any more questions that are specific, they have a message board on their site windrockatv.com You can check it out there.

Easter Eggs directions seem more like the ones we used.

We took that route the first time rt 116 is narrow and twisty if you have a large trailer or RV that may not be the best way but you will get there.

BigB - There are some Windrock pics in my sig - hook up with someone who rides there, the trails are marked hap-hazardly (locals keep tearing down the markers) There is usually someone there that will be glad to show you around. Awesome place to ride. Their difficult trails are darned near impossible, so be careful if you ride any of those.

I am going there with my buddy on his raptor. We are taking plenty of parts and possibly two extra quads. I am just concerned with only taking two people. We were going to go with his wife and my girlfriend but when they found out they would only be an hour from Gatlinburg, you can guess why only two of us are riding. We are kind of okay with it because we can ride a lot faster but it is always nice to ride with more people if you can.

If you know of any trails we can take that would be fun(some hillclimbs, big loops 30-35miles) let me know. We love destination riding. We did 90 miles in one day and we absolutely love it. Thanks for your help

Easter eggs directions are fine if you want to hit the town of Oak Ridge.......

...if you want to bypass OakRidge, use Quadcrews direction ....

....also use the windrock website for more information
