wish it was that easy, southern md atv in waldorf had a hell of a time getting that place put together, you can find those details on the net, the EPA made them do study after study to get a realistic effect on what the trails would have on not only the terrain but the enviroment and homes to animals, it was an uphill battle plus you still need insurance on a place like that because those waivers your signing arent bulletproof everyone signes the waiver then they do somethin stupid and then they sue and it makes it hard on evrybody but thats the society we live in . . . . . . . . . . .anyone riding????? im in sykesville

 

I'll be riding this weekend with "luke700sportman" and possibly "Tracker12" and who ever else wants to join us. We were talking about hitting some trails in Charles Co. if that doesn't workout then we'll just be hitting the good o'l Laurel Pits. I love that place it's pretty vast and it's so close to home and it's a little easier on us now since we found a new parking spot that so far has been good.

Hey, has anyone been to the Laurel "Pits" lately? Within the past few weeks I've heard that there was a shooting. Evidentally some guys approached a rider and when the rider tried to take off he was shot in the back! I heard he made it out okay' thank God. My buddy that lives near there told me about this and even my wife heard about it on the news. My other friend who's brother's a P.G. county cop told her that a couple weeks ago someone was "car-jacked" as they were leaving that area with his bike in the trailer and took off with everything!

I haven't been riding for over a month due to my rear end falling apart on me and I'm just now getting it slowly put back together. Not sure if I'll be riding the Pits for a while also because the area should be a bit "hot" with cops scoping the place out more in-depth.

Anyone else heard about this or have been riding the "Pits" lately?

 

the pits have gotten crazy.(read below) the only safe place to go is the southern maryland atv park. There robbing people on 301. I ran into 2 kids that said they take bikes from 301, somewhere in bowie, and the pits. be careful

my boyz went riding sunday......one of my boyz was racing a dude on a raptor 700 when some dudes on dirtbike came in and said watch out for a white suv and there were cops at some of the entrances. So my boyz was about to take off and the dude on the raptor was trying to get them to stay....they think he may have been an undercover...they made it back safe to the trucks and loaded up and headed back to the shop....when they got out to unload the quads a police helicopter was hoovering over them and stayed there for like 5 minutes then took off down to the pits. Later on the pits was on the news....they found a brand new suv back by arizona(sand part) with a loaded ak-47 and the engine still warm.


i don't think i will be going there any time soon.....the pits is like branch ave was a few years ago......

 

Thats nuts. I haven't been to the pits in a while. Last time I went riding around that area was Coca Cola drive and the place was packed with kids. Everything seemed fine so maybe thats still ok. Its small though.

Any body been down to the atv park by budds creek......i went about two weeks ago and i have to say it sucks......it sounds good when you see it on the website "over 300 acres of land" but that equals about 10 miles of trails if that. I was there for about 3 hours and by the time i left i knew all the trails already........i liked the track it was fun catching some air but that was about it......after paying 50 bucks to ride there i think i might take my chances with the pits.....in the meantime i am still looking for some good places to ride.....

 

Hey Mike, thanks for giving us the scoop on that Southern MD ATV park. "lovinmyraptor" has been there once too and he said it really wasn't all that. Man, I sure would love to go back to the "Pits" but after all the stuff that I heard in the news about that place I don't think I would want to find my self in the hands of those car jackers or in the hands of the authorities. Hit me up sometime so you can hook up with some of my friends including "Lovinmyraptor" and some other guys I met here so we can go riding sometime. We're even planning a trip somtime in Aug to "Hatfield & Mccoys" but we go to some closer places also like "Taskers gap".
