I'm in Southeast Kansas and have found several local places. However they are all privately owned and don't allow folks from just anywhere. We used to have a site to ride on just outside of town but it was shut down over 10 years ago....due to noise levels on the lake.
There is a place I visited that gets visits from everyone....it's over in Coffeyville Ks. Down alongside the Verdigris River.....North on Cline, east at the cemetery to Buckeye then a bit farther east and northern.....won't be long til you see tracks alongside the road you're on.

Ossawatomie is okay if you like trails. They do have a nice drag strip. I like it alot better than Perry. Have not been to Redmund yet.
I ride from my house and hop on the abandoned rail road tracks, no RR ties only gravel. I have gone along way west and found other riding areas along the way. These are only small local areas but its fun to stop and check out other trails.
I am going to try to go east past ottawa and on to Rantool.
I have gone from the RR paths north and on to minimum matinence roads.
There is also a private gravel pit area close to Carbondale different from the ATV/motocross area. 10$ a day to ride, just sign up with owner

Im headin up to Osawatomie this sunday the 12th. If anyone wants to go with my crew you all are more than welcome. Anyone can go up there and its free. Let me know and we'll meet up or somethin.
LOCKNLOAD-Its got almost all terrain. rocks, hard pack dirt and lots of woods riding. Its very nice. some great hills. Not as steep as Perry, atleast we haven't found any yet. We are still exploring it. We need help explorin, the more atv's the better! Come on down.
BasicBajaX-I take it you ride there a lot? How long you been riding there. I've been there 3 times so far.

would like to check out ossowatomie sometime, unfortunatly all our weekends are full this month. I've had to work waaaay too many weekends this fall. Maybe we can catch some good weather this winter.
Exactly where do you go to unload? Are the trails marked and is there a map? Any permits needed?
Any info appreciated.

By Milford KS is a park School Creek. It is on the W side just S of Wakefield. It is much bigger than Perry and much more fun, its has everything. Also along Tuttle Creek Lake is another ride area, it is S of Randolph off of I think Secrest RD. I have not been there yet and hope to make it there before spring. I think in another post on here I was mistaking John Redmound for Council Grove, they are two different parks. The Kansas ATV Asso. has a ride area near Pomona, but you must be a member to join and right now they are having insurence problems and it is closed.

I have rode at Milford Lake KS. several times and personal think its one of the best all around places to ride. It take me 2 and half hours to drive there from Kansas City but it has been worth it every time. We go to Perry Lake if I need a quick fix, but you can cover the whole place in about 2 hours of hard riding. This summer we went to Chadwick MO. That place is huge. It has 125 miles of marked trails and great camp sites. We rode there for 3 full days and still didn't come close to hitting all the trails. The trails are maintained by the park and they put in cobble stones in the high erosion areas. It has some of nasty climbs I have ever seen. I can't wait to go back this year.
