Short atv trip into Canda, what do I need?
My atv is registered in Mass. and from I understand but I haven't checked it out yet is since I have a utility quad and not a sport quad,I can get insurance coverage.I am leaving tomorrow for a 2 day atv ride in New Hampshire but when I get back,I will do more searching for coverage..this atv trip to Canada is going to happen one way or another...maybe not this weekend as planned but soon.I posted a question on a Vermont atv club's forum and one idea that was presented was to find out if my atv can be covered under a motorcycle type of insurance. I think having atv insurance whether I go to Canada or not is probably a good idea... what if something happens on the trail...a collison with another atv or whatever!

Cleve,
Don't know if this is on time, or if it will help, but here's who I use for an insurance carrier.
www.atv-line.com
I have full coverage with a $500 deductible...cost me $101 an atv per year.
Hope you can get some help before you leave on your trip. Good luck.

Short atv trip into Canda, what do I need?
To anybody reading this reply,I have exhausted all avenues to try and find insurance for my atv in Mass.I have been told by many people who have tried and cannot get insurance, one guy even went as far as talking personally on the phone with the insurance commisioner. The insurance laws in this state for insuring atv's practically make it close to imposible for insurance companies to write a policy for atv's.
I appreciated all feedback on this question,I'm all done trying to find insurance.
Thanks again,
Cleve

Cleve, Here's a reply from the official Quebec Tourisim office:
Bonjour !
Concerning your question, here is the information provided from the ATV Federation of Quebec.
"For ATVs registered outside of Quebec, it is obligatory to obtain an insurance responsibility for ATVs in the country or province of origin. If the broker outside of Quebec could not give this coverage of insurance directly (as in your case), the traveler could apply for it throught this insurance company"
Le Groupe 3PCS (Programme Max Quad

mailto:info@3pcs.com
For ATVs rented in Quebec, insurance is usually included in the rental contract and price. It is necessary to check with the rental company and make sure to have a copy of the contract with you at all time. Also, for more information on ATV trips to Quebec, you can contact the

Wow, doesn't sound like fun.
Have you sorted it out yet?
If not, have you explored this option.........
Do you have a friend or family in a neighboring state where you can register your quad?
Might make it easier to get insurance.
This will work as long as your state recognizes others ATV registrations, which most do.
Way over here on our side of the world, there are Washingtonians that register their ATV's in Oregon.
Their tabs are way cheaper and are good for two years instead of one.
Anyway, good luck and I hope you pull your trip off
