Just a very quick story about that trail. I always ask for permission to ride. So I tried to get permission to ride along 104. I called my local PD to find out who I should ask. They recommended the county highway supervisor in Wayne county. So I called him. Didn't get a direct answer or an opportunity to speak with him directly. I did get a recommendation to call the county engineer's office. I did that and left several messages for the guy, but no call back. I also tried the county sheriff and state DOT, no luck there. OK, if I get stopped now, at least I can rattle off some names of people I tried to ask but didn't get responses from.
While I was out there I did see a couple of Trooper and local cop cars on 104, they didn't look twice. At least I felt good about trying to ask.
Anyway, I rode out there several years ago. I parked by the turn to go to Chimney Bluffs, not sure what road that is, and headed east. I don't remember how far I went, but I do remember that it was pretty boring. It's 98% flat single track and maybe 2% small hills or ditch crossing.
I imagine there are some turn-offs where riding may not be legal without permission, but I didn't explore those options.
I say go for it, and let us know how far you get.
