where to ride in ct.

Ummmmm.... Nowhere! Not legally of course.
I just heard over the weekend that even the only spot for the bikes to ride (Thompson Damn) was closed.
There are some trails in CT, but they are private property. Either take your chances or get permission.
There was a decent sand pit in Plainville that everyone rode at. But this past year the owner brought the local police a quad and now they kic everyone out.
If you are into trails, then there are a few in Western Mass. Join NEATVA and they can tell you all about them. For me, the trails are not fun. My quads are set up for MX and the trails are too rough. Hitting a rock would be very expensive.
For MX track riding, not in CT, again. THe closest place I have found is in Eagle Bridge NY. It takes me about 2.5 hours to get there. Nice place, with a lot of jumps. But it is a haul. There is a race series in New England as well. Next year we should have over 10 races. Three tracks so far. Walden in NY, Jolly Roger in NH and the famous Moto338 in Southwick MA.
Best bet to go riding, find some one that has property near you and ask. DEP will chase you anywhere in CT you go. Even with planes in some spots.

Good old CT. aint a damn place to ride. i even get kicked out of my own trails that are about a minute or 2 away from my home. i worked my *** off building them too. i started from nothing. by the time i finished (about 3 months later) i had 2 nice berms, a decent section of whoops, 2 double's (not too big, around 30 ft.) 1 single (5ft. high) and a 25 ft. table top. around 3/4 mile track all 2gether(in the woods) i worked so hard building these. me and just one of my friends did this all in about 3 maybe 4 months, using shovels and wheelburows. the land was behind his fathers house, it wasnt his property, but its a very friendly neighborhood so we didnt think we would have a problem. we rode there at least 3 times a week, until one day, while we were parked out front of the house, a cop comes down the road, he stops infront of me (sitting on my quad)and ask's me if i was riding in the area. i told him i was. come to find out, someone had called the police department and complained. so now we use it for bmx and dirt jumping with are bikes. after 6 months of riding and workin on it there, some finally decides to call and get us kicked out. man was i pissed. to this day, i still dont know who it was that called (lucky for that person).
i still had my oneother riding place. the sand pits that lasher refured to in his post. not much later, the owner buys the quad for the cops and so on. so i got kicked out of there. but since my parents know the owner, i was lucky enough to get permission. i rode there almost every weekend, but it got boring riding alone.
so i just recently sold my quad. but im getting a new one in march or april. im taking the winter off to snowboard, and will be starting up again on hopefully a new 2001 banshee in march or april (need time to save the $) so to answer your question, there isnt any where in CT to ride unless its your own property, or you have permission which is hard to get usually.
im really suprised though, i mean, there are tons of dirtbike and ATVer's here in CT, i constantly see quads in garages or on trailers. i think that we should come to gether and do something bout this. it really doesnt matter much to us here in CT if gore becomes president, all are land has been taken away already any ways, i dont think there is much, if anything left for him to do here.
happy riding to ya (if you can actually find a place to go)if you find a new place, let me know at j_quads00@hotmail.com (dont go by wut it says in my profile as my e-mail, its wrong.)
