DeadHorse is still the best trail in the state for tecnical riding. But the Moron DNR keeps filling every hole up with gravel. Why can't they leave a few trails to the hardcore riders to manage. Instead of the pansieAZZ don't want to get my tires dirty group. Sorry just venting

the deadhorse is alright but if it dosnt rain for a few weeks it dries up. and then it is just a rocky rutty trail, which is still alright and better thatn riding railroad beds. go as soon as you can in the spring and you'll find more mud than you want. i have heard a section of it called 29 miles long, 28 miles of mud. you might also want to try the spider loop trail by birchwood it usually has some nice mud holes.

Came back on Sunday from riding in Wisconsin. We went to the Park Falls area and rode the Flambeau trail and the Dead Horse Run trail. I did find anything that I needed 4 wheel drive for. Every mudhole on the Dead horse trail I rode through in 2 wheel drive. The Flambeau trail was well marked and signed but the DNR went out of it's way to make sure you didn't get close to any water are mud on the trail.
I agree with BigDog800EFI that the DNR is filling in all the good spots on the Dead Horse trail. If I wanted to ride gravel rodes I would have stayed home and did that. All they did was make the trail boring and dusty.

To me it doesn't matter who is filling them in, they are just ruining(sp) the good trails. A guy in one of the bars on the Flambeau trail said they move the trail just south of there because some people took their kids through this bog, got stuck and the kids almost drownd. So just because someone didn't know their limitations the rest of us have to suffer. Now they have signs up that state this section of the trail is a "Tainquile trail" because they moved the trail closer to some homes. I don't have a problem with them making an alternate route, it is the total closer of all of the challenging trails.
Don't get me wrong, I still had fun riding in Wisconsin, just not as much as I expected when we were planning the trip. Maybe if there had been more rain the Dead Horse trail would have been more fun, but I still doubt it would have been a trail that required a lot of winching and towing to go down. If it did, that would have made for one long day because it was already 78 miles round trip, about 9 hours of riding.
