Our club -- Open Trails ATV Club of Minnesota -- is considering a club ride to the Black Hills in the summer of 2001. Anyone ridden the Black Hills? Where can I get trail maps/info? Is there an ATV club in that area we could hook up with?

 

ive heard that you can ride on the fire trales in the hills and on the snowmoibile trails as long as you close any gates that you open but dont know for sure just what i heard from a guy who rode there a few years back he said that they talked to the dnr from over there

ps i live in the north west part of iowa and would apperate any rideing aera that you might know of in the aera and maybe even in a mebership if close to where i live

Now you got me thinking.... I remember talking to a corp of engineer ranger here in town (Chamberlain,SD), I think he said that there was an area along the river that they wished an atv club would take over. Hey Bret! Haven't heard from you in awhile. Get any fall spraying in? Snow pretty much shut me down! I heard that the GF&P are gonna get real tough on riding up and down the river if and when they get all of the corp land transferred over to them. Might be a big spray job coming up with them as well. Foster

 

Hey Stanedit, Call Rice Honda in Rapid city, 605-342-2242, They can tell you the best places to go. Real nice people there. You can get maps from The Black Hills board of tourism. They outline the snowmobile trails but give you a good idea of landmarks. A little advice..Take a GPS . It's too easy to get lost and it all looks the same! Have fun!
