I am planning on riding at Chadwick this weekend for the first time. I was led to believe I need a forestry service permit and need to pay a fee to use Chadwick, but did not see anything of this nature on the Chadwick trail map I have.

Does anyone have any information on this? Where do I get these permits? Any advice on Chadwick in general? Where do I turn off the highway? Is it marked?

THANKS in advance!

Here is a number to the ranger office for Chadwick
417-683-4428. They should be able to help with any questions you have. I can answer a few, Yes you need to buy a permit $5.00 a day for each ATV.
You can get them in the town of Chadwick at a local gas station, and there are signs on the way.
Chadwick has approx. 120 miles of trails from Sunday cruisin to down right NASTY,(lots of rocks). Hope this helps, Good luck and Happy Wheelin.

You don’t need a forestry service permit. Take some tire plugs on the trail with you just to be safe. I have some pics of Chadwick on my link.
