If you ride in AZ, please share your best "touring" rides. I am always looking for new scenic rides. My favorite so far has been the 13 mile loop around the Sunflower Mercury mine. You can look it up on the web. It was FANTASTIC!!!! Had every conceivable obstacle, river rocks, lots of snow on the North sides the day we went, creeks, shelf roads, flat roads, boulder fields, steep hills and valleys etc. There are numerous mine shafts along the way. The type you see in movies that have wood supports at the entrance and go straight back into the mountain. The Sunflower mine is very cool. In tact buildings etc. I am looking forward to doing this one again!

One of the best loop rides is the Four Peaks trail. Take the trail from the Beeline Hwy to the top of the mountain then go down the other side to where it ends at the highway. Turn right at the Hwy for 200 feet then turn left onto the dirt road. Follow this road to the end. It crosses the Tonto river twice and is appx 5 miles long. At the end of the dirt rd you can turn right and follow hwy88 about 500 ft. There you will come to a cafe and gas station. Have lunch, refuel and head back. It's about 70 miles total and is a great ride. I've done it at least 6 times both winter and summer.
