Default Calif for kids?

I live in the bay area. Where is a good place to take my son (9yr) for the weekend with little to no experience? To have a good time and not worry about other people.

Buy a forestry map and head my way! cow towns abound. Find a fire road in the National Forest and life is good.......

South Cow Mountain riding area, just east of Ukiah up in Mendo County. There are campsites and a lot of trails. I was there a few weeks ago with a friend and his two kids on their Raptor 80s. Some of the trails are way to steep and technical but there also easier trails and even a few little kiddy parks for those that are just starting out. I've heard that it is better to camp during the week because the weekend crowd can get a little rowdy. You can also stay in Ukiah. Believe me when I say this, riding there was one of the most fun things I have ever done.

That place sounds great. Is there camping for Toy Haulers?

There are number of areas to ride around Redding, Chappie-Shasta OHV @ 65000 ac, also National Forests and BLM, @ 3-3.5 hours from SF.

I'm not sure about toy haulers. Your best bet might be to google the place or call one of the ATV dealers in town. I recommend the Suzuki or KTM dealers because they seem to be the friendliest.
