where 2 stay - Hatfield McCoy
#1
A large group here in southern Indiana - 25 people/ all couples want to go to Hatfiled McCoy on our next atv trip but we are trying to find cabins we all can stay at.
Here is what we need.
4-5 cabins, with full bathrooms, kitchens, & bedrooms that we can rent for 5 days & then hit the trails from them. The last time I investigated I could not find anything other than really tiny sheds, old trailers, apratments or bunk houses.
Does anyone have any suggestions of places they have stayed at before, pics, phone #'s ?

Check this place out. We just got back from Hatfield/McCoy May 13th after staying 4 days and we took 23 people who all stayed at this large 2 story cabin....Cabin and location are nice and we have dealt with the owners twice now and they have taken care of us well.

Try staying at a place called Twin hollow camp ground. Just spent a week up there with a group of 14 people. It is in West Virginia off highway 52. The place has real nice cabins 8 to be exact. You can leave the cabins straight to the trails and ride atv in town to was them at the local carwash. I plan on going back in late June or early July.

Whats the trails rating in that area? I would like to get my wife and kids involved in ATV outings, but need some really easy trails for their first outing, the cabin aspect would definitely appeal to the wife too!

Sandman74, I'd recommend going to the Pinnacle Creek (first choice) or the Little Coal River (second choice) systems first. They are the easiest (on average) of the 6 Hatfield McCoy trail systems so far. I'd rate Pinnacle Creek system a little easier just because of the wide open main trail (T14) that goes into the heart of the system. The scenery is nice there too.
Gitrdone, another good place to stay if you have a crowd (and you make reservations far enough in advance) is The Depot Lodge in Man. It is an old train station that has been made into efficiency apartments. All one building with 6 units I think it is. A nice porch in front, a large deck in back. Right by the river, a gas station close by and you can ride to the Rockhouse trail head (Browning Fork trail system) from there...
