A guy I know from the ATV Club I belong to (Wayne County ATV Club) was right behind her when it happened. Shook him so badly he sold his quad right there in the parking lot before he went home. Got home and put his wife's quad up for sale too....Says he's done riding for good.

Very sad, the only other blurb I saw in the local paper said alcohol may have been involved. This is a very fun place to ride, but some of the trials are very tricky, the hills are extremely steep. Its really not a place for beginners, drink'n'riders, or beginner young kids.

Got to ask if anybody knows what kind of quad she was riding???? I am really convinced that the current crop of huge, heavy (top heavy), monster utilities are accidents waiting to happen in the hands of most riders. Still, you can kill yourself on a skateboard too.........

A lot of people think sport quads are dangerous, but my 450R at 350 pounds is a toy compared to a 700-800 pound ute.

chances are it was a utility quad, sport quads are definitely less common at Wellsville. I only know of one girl rider in the area that rides a 450R - all the other ones I've seen are on big 4x4s

Stow -- Police say a 24-year-old Stow woman was killed May 27 after an all-terrain vehicle accident on a trail in Yellow Creek Township.

Saline Township Police Chief Ken Hayes said Jennifer Sunde was riding an ATV in Forbidden Zone ATV Park, near Hammondsville, with her boyfriend when she apparently hit a rock.

"She flipped over, and the bike landed on top of her," Hayes said.

The police report states, "The bike kicked sideways when it hit a rock and rolled the bike backward over the victim's chest. There were no signs of marks on her body from the accident."

According to Hayes, Sunde's boyfriend and an acquaintance were riding with Sunde on separate ATVs.

Hayes said Saline Township Emergency Medical Services transported Sunde to the East Liverpool City Hospital, where she later died.

He said Sunde suffered blunt force trauma to the chest, and no one else was injured during the accident.

Hayes said May 30 the Columbiana County coroner's office is investigating the accident to determine the exact cause of death.

According to Hayes, the trail where Sunde was riding is in a "desolate" area.

"There is no good way of getting in there," he said. "It's a nasty place to ride. There have been four or five fatalities in the last 10 to 15 years."
