It doesn't take long once bearing wears out to over heat the carrier and break that, then it chews up the axle where the bearing seal rides.
Remember when we first met? That is why I was needing the axle wrenches, to remove the damaged axle to install a new one.
I had the carrier replaced down at that Coos Bay Honda shop so we could continue our vacation.
Nate was riding the 400 and we didn't notice that the carrier was broken until we got back into camp.
I was able to purchase a real nice used axle off ebay for a cheap price,

I have never been a believer in "you can't hurt borrowed equipment" I've always believed if you hurt borrowed equipment, you fix it before you return it.

During the snow, $kllz and the nieghbor were riding it. Because both rode it I can't point fingers, but the nieghbor wants to help.

The carrier was broke by me trying to hard, to adjust the chain. I knew I needed one of those. I was waiting till the bearings went out, so I could then buy a greasable billet one. We were having to much fun in the snow, to keep an eye on things like that. If I would have known, I would have parked it. I have looked at ebay today and there wasn't any deals to jump right on. I will keep looking.....

Oh and the 450r stocker won't work with the 400ex axle hardware.
