NEW Puget Sound/Seattle/Northwest area riders MEET HERE!!! thread
Well, my truck gremlin is back, with a new twist.
Now the transmission is randomly acting weird. I drove to Woodinville yesterday and just as I got there, it started dropping out of gear, but L and 2 worked, just nothing in Drive. We got where we were goinh and got my roofing and then it wouldn't start with the same clicking and no turn over but all power on that it's been doing all along. We checked the relay(pulled it and re-seated it), battery cables, etc. Fuel pump and all other power was running, but just the click when I turned the key.
Ron was just about to try to cross the starter with a screwdriver to see if that would work and it started before he touched it.
No transmission issue all the way back up North until about 3 miles from my house on a 35mph road. Then that same weird drop out of gear(no clunk, just out of gear), and randomly clunk back in for a few hundred yards or up to 40mph randomly.
Got it home, little by little, and as soon as I parked and shut it off, it wouldn't start again.
If it's to the point I am going to have to replace my transmission, I will have to figure out how to make that investment, but it just seems weird that both problems are happening together now.
I am a troubleshooter and fixer by nature and what I do for a living, but I really hate gremlins I can't figure out.
Tony, I might have to find out where your shop is and have you take a look at this bugger. Might be cheaper than continuing to replace parts that aren't broken.

Kinda late to be replying... yes, just got back. What a hoot! We had 24 bikes in our parade going up there and through town. One of them owns a house just outside of Conway where we ended up afterwards to watch the parade of bikes go by.
