I actually rode my horse Star for the first time last night. It was way too cool!!!

Actually, she's half Paint(sire), half Appaloosa(dam), can't you tell? One white spot on her forehead. Geez.

Has anyone shown you the trick of putting a broom handle thru your stirrups when the saddle is on the tree to get them to hang properly? If you put the handle thru them so they are twisted out before long they will hang at a 90 degree angle to the seat. Makes it easier to get clear if you have to bail out and also keeps the stirrup from rubbing holes in you boot.

Enjoy, looks like you have an easy walker from the build.

I know that trick and used it when it was brand new. That saddle has been in the trailer or tack room for probably 2 years, so it needs to be oiled up and re-broken in. Thanks for the tip though. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] Been fun learning to train her. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

Horses and Horsepower. Both time consuming, expensive hobbies. I have a hard time choosing one or the other though.
