StJoe is a great place to ride with your kid or on a Sport bike also if you like to drag race in the sand. I dont like it as much as the younger riders do. My daughter has to go several times each year. Check out some of my pictures. I just wouldnt recommend it to a bunch of utility riders from out of state. It's main area is in the bottom were the tailings from the lead mine are. It's like sand, great place for sport bikes but I think these guys need to see some of our great trails that are at Chadwick and Suttons bluff.

Go to chadwick then you'll have a great time on utillities. They'll have everything you should want to tackle don't forget to get a map when you stop to get your permits at kays. Also don't make the mistake of not getting permits either I have heard they can come down pretty hard if you upset them.

i live south of st louis mssouri and i have been to st. joe, suttons bluff ,chadwick, fingerlakes( a guy we ride with made it to the hospital when we went there), and other mark twain national forest areas. i have a farm that backs up to about 4500 acres with trails and out of all of them chadwick was the best. only been there once and for about 3 hours due to a broken axle while playing on rocks. big rocks. we plan on gettin back there soon. well have fun and be careful. im sure yous will like it. oh, and ill be askin you about that riding in mn. i travel for work fixing hail damaged cars and have been to MN. and WI. several times. perhaps you can guide me to a good place when i go there again.

I would give the nod to Chadwick also. I have also been to St Joe, Finger Lakes, Glade Top. You can find whatever you want at Chadwick from mild to wild. I go about once a month and I live 4 hrs away. can't stay away.

There is also a private land area up north of kirksville mo. its called simply "the farm" this old retired guy owns it and open every weekend $5 a head to get in. everything is allowed in. Our usualy trip consist of getting there around 8am, riding till 12-1 then the mud bogger trucks show up. We then Usually follow them around and watch them creek cross and tear their machins up in the ravines. We always have fun, plenty of trails, PLENTY of mud and ditch / creek crosing areas. Posting some pic links of our last trip to "the farm".

Can you give the location or who to contact for "The Farm"?

Well I dont know how to contact the guy who owns it, his cell number is on the sign ouside of the gate but I failed to write it down...ok the Easiest way I know to get to the Farm is Highway 11 east out of Kirksville towards Adair, The Road you turn off on is the VERY Last Gravel road heading south (right) before you hit Adair, (we miss the road almost every time) if you miss it you will be in Adair so turn around leave and take the first left. Follow the gravel road for approx 2-3 miles you will finally see an old decrepid house with a sign out by the road saying "this way the farm". They guy who runs it might not be there in the morning, but he leaves a sign out with a phone number on it to get in touch. He usually tells you to open the gate and go on in he will catch up to you later. 5$ a head to get in, no helmets or flags required, have to sign a waiver. have fun!

Well clearly Chadwick is the best but is Finger Lakes worth going to? The reason I ask is because it would be the closest one to me and also the wife hasn't ridden as much as me and I don't want to take her anyplace that she won't be comfortable.

when i was at finger lakes it was really hilly. a guy we ride with went up a hill and flipped back and was taken to the hospital. it may not be all hilly but it was where we rode.
