I'm moving to Oregon in july and was still trying to decide on location. Is it better ATVing around the Portland area or down south like florence or Eugene. I'd love to beable to mess around with my bike right outside my place, without trailering it. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas as to what I am looking fro.

definetly the southern oregon coast. florence, reedsport, coos bay, that is if you like to ride in the sand. we only live a 1/2 hour from the dunes and its great.

 

i ride a lot of wooded trails in such in the northeast. I'm looking forward to riding the dunes. Are there any wooded rural areas that way? I like to ride the woods sometimes.

 

Ya if you want an excellent trail riding area look at east fort rock south of bend, there are alot of trail riding areas on the coast as well.

I live south of eugene in roseburg, i dont ride much here but i know there are a few ohv riding areas near or around eugene. and the sand dunes are not to far away either.

 

Yea Eugene looks like its surrounded by trees, so I figure there has to be some good wooded areas to ride. Like you said also Florence is not too far west and the dunes look really awesome.

 

We have relatives in Roseburg, so that is the area I am most familiar with. From there, you are just an hour or so from the coast and the dunes. They are great, but I wouldn't want to spend a winter there. Inland, it isn't so wet....
