There's permits available, I just spoke to someone on Thurs about it. I haven't been there yet, but the plan is we are going this Thurs. The quarry is called "the {Patenberg Quarry}. It's a pretty big area. I have pics of it when I was there a couple of years ago.
This is when I didn't have the ITP wheels and tires..
That tunnel is 1 mile long and due to the water in it, even though the entrance is huge, you cannot see through to the other side cause of the fog inside.

Thanks for the info on the mines I looked into it this week but all of the riding I do is with my 3 yr old son on the quad, and they do not allow anyone under the age of 12 there. There is other place in the pocono's called the lost wolf trails atv park that appears to be more family friendly but looks kind of small.

Hello everyone, I am new here, but also a northern NJ rider.....further north than most of you.
I grew up in Sussex County and we always rode the railroad tracks, but they have cracked down on it so bad, the fines just aren't worth it.
I'm looking for a place to ride with my son who is a new rider and this weekend we went out to lost trails. I was horribly disapointed.......we left after an hour.
Im really looking for a LEGAL place to ride.......has anyone done any research on riding out in walpack? There are hundreds of miles of trails and dirt roads out there, but it is federal land......I've never seen anyone on any vehicle that doesn't have plates on it....
Any suggestions?
