Well it looks as if I'm not going to make it to ride with you guys.

My wife went to the doctor on monday and was told that it looks as if this kid is going to be here a little sooner than expected (maybe this week). So she is going to be bed ridden for the next few days to play the "wait and see" game. She still wants to go but there is no way I'm going to risk her giving birth on the beaches of Pismo.

So even though I'd really like to ride and get to meet you guys this next weekend, I hope you understand. If things change I'll let you know. Otherwise maybe I'll make it next time.

Man it's hard to be bummed and excited at the same time. Talk about the "emotional rollercoaster"

Darby, congratulations!!! Hope everything goes well. Don't sweat not coming. I'll be there, but the 400 won't be. It went skydiving last Sunday and probably won't be running for a couple of months. I'm gonna rent a 250R on Saturday and if I get desperate enough, might have to resort to the wife's 300EX for the rest of the weekend (wretch!!!!). Let's make plans to meet at Hungry Valley this fall. Let me know what you think. When the little'n comes don't forget to start a new thread, " Son of Darby" or " What's That Smell?" or " Sleepless In So Cal.", or " Breast Feeding Sucks!".

Sorry to hear about the 400. Was this before or after you bought the paddles? How bad is she?

Make sure you check out the rental pretty good before you take it. I rented a Banshee once about 7 years ago and it turned out to be a real P.O.S. Darn thing barely ran at all.

Unfortunatly I can't ride the Banshee at the valley. No spark arresters and no way to put some on the LRD pipes. However if you ever make it to Dumont Dunes during desert season drop me a line. I can actually make it there for day trips (2.5 hour drive) and since it looks like day trips are my limit for the next 6 months thats where I'll be. However I might hit Stoddard or Honda valleys as well.

I love kids but the first year of their life really throws off my riding schedule...

This trip was supposed to be my last before the baby but now it looks like my Ocotillo trip in May was my last. THIS SUCKS.

Darby, How bad is she? Bent handlebars, busted starter/headlight/kill swich assy., tweaked throttle cable, bent stering stem, bent bumper, bent A-arm, bent rim, bent foot peg, and maybe bent hub and spindle. Oh yea, thrashed the plastic and my beautyful One Industries graphics and seat cover. I startd calling around for prices on the stem and A-arm today. Might not cost as much as I thought is was going to. Still, I don't think I'll have it back together 'till October at the earlyest. Depends on how crazy I get with the rebuild. Don't bother kicking me, I'm doing it myself!

Don't get too bummed about the time with the family. When you're 101 and on your death bed, you'll be wishing for more time with your kids, not one more spin on the quad.

Keep us posted on the little woman and new cookie cruncher.
