good deal cnc- peace of mind having the initial service performed by the dealer- it's the most important tuneup of the atv's break-in. $250 is small compared to what you paid for that kq and keeping it tuned right

shouldn't have to- especially on a new atv that's not ridden aggressively.

I'm thinking that if the alignment was out enough to affect ATV handling you'd be able to see it with a tape measure by measuring the distance between the front wheels at the front edge and the back edge of the aluminum wheels near the tire bead.

You definitely need to get those tire pressures adjusted exactly equal though.

Polaris quads typically have a toe out of about 1/8" or so in the front. In other words, the front of the front tire is 1/8" further out than the inside of the back of the front tire. Not 100% sure on the XP though.

That's actually a common issue with an older polaris due to the springs... If I remember correctly, the new xp no longer uses struts up front- it uses shocks? You can easily adjust the "toe" via the tierods but the camber adjustment would require spring adjustments...

There's plenty of threads on this issue in the polaris & tire / suspension forums, like this one below...

An issue for some, including me, on the previous generations of Sportsmans was that they had soft front ends. I put heavy duty springs over the McPherson struts and it improved the ride a ton.

In your owner's manual they probably show a process involving strings and posts to check your alignment. I don't have an XP (yet) and am not sure how they do it with the newer double A-arm setup they now have.
