Not sure where everyone was this weekend, but me and the gf went up to Newport, NH to try out the Sugar River Trail (Thanks to Moose...directions were spot on!)

We put on over 32 miles. About 20 of it on the rail trail. A little monotous, but really fun for an easy cruise. Plus we went into Claremont and rode some of those trails behind BK. Overall, a pretty cool place to ride. Fantastic weather and great scenery. And, my truck got us home before it died, so a really good day.

Looks like you guys had a blast! Not sure why but I like covered bridges, very nostalgic I guess. Plus anyplace where you can stop for food and fuel is cool IMO.

I can ride next Sunday the 7th. Wouldn't mind checking out Pisgah but I am willing to go anywhere. Unfortunately I can't get out Saturday which I know is usually a better day to ride

Nice pics Kevin. Sugar River Trail is perfect for families, riding with small kids and very beginners. Beautiful scenic trail. But if you are there for third time, it's flat and boring. Anyway, I like that area, and I need to try other part of that as Cat Hole Rd. and Arrowhead flatrock. I got detailed map from Sullivan County ATV club. Ready to explore soon. They have every Wed. night ride.

I was out riding on Saturday morning. I left Uxbridge and made it to Varney Bros concrete in Bellingham. Was a good ride except the first half getting to Bellingham is rocky. Once you hit Mendon, its much better.

Then this morning I heard and confirmed Uxbridge police were running the RR tracks from CVS to the Millville line Saturday afternoon and evening. This is the first time I've heard them do this and this is one of my main riding routes. Anyone else hear about this?

Don't know anything about this, but sounds very plausible. Especially if anyone ever complained about the people riding there.

Police in MA have more incentive than ever to be vigilant about ATV policing. The fines are much higher (more revenue for the local PD) and the fines are steeper (confiscating your ATV even for the first offense!). With the increased awareness of the new ATV legislation, we are sitting ducks here in MA.

Do yourself a favor: Stop riding there. You will get caught. You will get fined (ask Beergut. $250 fine right in front of his house!)

ATVing in MA is over. Come join us in NH sometime.

Wilson, that trail you took behind BK used to connect to the Cornish Turnpike/Cathole Road/Whitewater Brook trail. It was one of the best trail systems within 2 hours of my house until the guy across from the outdoor pool closed a section off to ATVs. I've heard more than a few reasons why he closed it but it kind of made things less accessable. To the South of the railtrail is Arrowhead Mountain Ski Are trails. Nice views from the top and there's a few miles of a loop up there too. Haven't been up there yet this season other than a trail cleanup to help out a little bit. Further down there are some trails around the Newport/Claremont line off the rail trail. One of them goes to an old Mica Mine.

The Cathole Road/Cornish Turnpike Loop has a lot of deep water/mud holes. Challenging but fun if the water isn't too high. Some of the deepest holes where I can't see bottom and haven't seen anyone go in have ways around them.

I might be able to go in a couple weeks. Not this coming Saturday.
