well, i went out with these guys for the first time today so i can prob help, first off, they are all crazy. but in a good way, second the trail we hit in NH (LMFT) was the hardest trail ive ever hit in my life,(ask wilson ) and im used to doing power lines) i made it on a wolverine 450, (byfar the smallest of the bunch with 23" tires, so prob not that much different than a 400ex, as long as you have skid plating and can keep up momentum, you might stand a chance, but i guess its up to the older guys, you might stand a better shot if were not doin lmft

You talking about the xtr's I gave you?
They should fit fine- they were on my sp 800 and had plenty of room. I think the 500 & 800 are the same size...

Default tires

m The backs that i bought 27 and being 11in wide they are right up to the sway bar in the back.i dont want to take a chance on blowing the back tires so looks like spacers will be the way to go.

Wow- I guess there is a difference between the 500 & 800- Must look mean with those 27" x 14" XTR's though Here's a pic of those tires on my 800- I had a good 1" of space- never any problems.
