Dugger, IN....revisited
#1
I went to Dugger again this weekend, one word, DUSTY! I shouldn't have been surprised I guess, since we haven't had any sizable rain for about 6 months or so...and it is in old strip mines..so the coal dust was thick.
As I am new to the sport, I don't have goggles, bad idea! So I spent most of the day wiping the crud out of my eyes.
I about wiped out when I went in a big mudhole in the road, while I couldn't see...I kept it upright, but did get a big bruise on the inside of my thigh from the handlebars.(*ouch!*)
One of the other riders in our group (a 60 yr old guy I work with) rolled his backwards while going up a steep, tricky hill. I think he broke his thumb, but he wouldn't go to the dr.
SO: In conclusion, if you go to Dugger, wear goggles and a mask! and watch those hills!
