I got back yesterday from the trip. The weather was PERFECT. The trails were just right for my son. He isn't up to a very far ride. We went 5 miles out and back in each direction from Darlington at different times of the day. We also did a shorter night ride. We had a great time. I'd like to go back with a buddy and do the whole trail system. The area is close enough to where I live that I'd like to find some property near the trail and put up a cabin or a trailer.

On the trail I wasn't sure why everyone was waving with their fist. I asked someone and they explained that was a system to tell how many riders are behind you.

Glad you had a great time. Yes, you have to tell other riders how many are in you party.

Why is the number of rider communication so important? I can see if you are in a larger group. When you have 2-3 rider though you can see them when approaching.

I'm not saying the system is a bad idea, just wondering how it came to be.

I think this is strange also. probally one day some hillbillie from wis gave a guy a peace sign and it just so happened to have two ridders behind him? i rode this trail, it is great until you get a speeding ticket!? I think the 30mph speed limit is a bust out. i havent gotten one but someone in our group did. on anther note I guess if your doing 60+ i would like to know if there are more riders coming behind the leader. but then again it doesnt really matter until you run into the next group of riders. i think the whole tell me how many riders are behind you is retarded.. keep your hands on the bars and stay to the right and watch where your going.

The person I asked about the practice said it has been used for years in the snowmobile world.

Summer has come and gone!! kinda sucks but going upnorth for one more weekend of riding and some bowhunting in a couple of weeks.

We ended up putting on darn near 1000 miles this summer, alot of dusty riding because of the lack of rain upnorth. but found some more new trails in Onieda and a loop in Lincoln county.

I seem to have all my mechanicle issues resolved with the new Scrambler which is a beast for sure, gonna spend some time this winter going through the machines and checking everything out becuase they did take a beating but held up.

We would be so up for riding get together early next spring when the trails open in Langlade should be lots of mud, found a cool campground with free showers lol!

let me know if anyones interested, these are some cool trails mud ,rocks, lots of hills and ridges ect.

I can see both point of views, I will say on narrow trails with alot of corners I do like when people give a count , it keeps everyone slowed down a bit and on there side of the trail, on the Cheesehead you can see 5 miles down the trail LOL!!

Haven't said much in a while. Been busy between work and sleep.

For a while I was working 6 days every week and spent most Sundays sleeping.

Haven't gone out riding since Memorial Day this year.

Took my younger sister with me on that trip. On our way back in for the night she decided to look a a bunch of quads parked on the side of the trail instead of watching where I was in front of her. I stopped for a stop sign and she piled into the back of me at about 20 mph. Hairline fracture in her right thumb.

I'm all for going out riding early next year. Hopefully I'll be all set with my new job by then and be able to get a few days off.

Hoping to start getting into trucking soon here. I turn 21 in a couple weeks and will hopefully be hired on not too long afterwards. I can't apply until my 21st Birthday though.
