I just got a flyer from Allegheny Highland Pulling Assoc. and it states that the age requirements (3 and 4 wheelers) for all riders must be 18 years old or older. No exceptions. I called the phone number provided and that was confirmed this morning. I just thought I would pass this along to anyone who might be bringing people that might be under 18 years old. It gives 2 phone numbers to call and asks people to NOT contact administration with age restriction concerns. The phone numbers are Doug Wagner 814-425-1577 or Richard Pegan 814-425-2186. This is a big dissapointment for my son and myself. I guess I wont be going this year, would never hear the end of it from My 12 year old. He still talks about last years ride and shows pictures to everyone. I think its a shame he rides better and more responsibly than most adults I have seen. I guess they are getting away from the family thing just like everyone else. Next thing you know it will be a big commercial event that takes Visa and Mastercard.

 

We are not going to be able to make it to
Cochranton this year, but we have gone the previous four years and last year took two of our boys on the ride with us. It could be that this decision to raise the age requirements was forced upon them by circumstances beyond their control. I appreciate the effort the people involved have put into this run. There are other runs we will be going to this year. We will have to wait for 4-5 years before we can go to Cochranton unless the age requirement is changed though.
